Ola Gäverth spent 28 years as a journalist at Sveriges Radio before joining Huddinge Municipality as Head of Press in 2024. Few people at Citizen 2026 will have sat on both sides of the channel strategy conversation quite like he has.
Nordic public service media has, over the past few years, made deliberate choices about where to invest its editorial presence - pulling back from some platforms, doubling down on owned channels. It is a strategic journey that municipalities are now beginning to navigate themselves.
Together with the communications-team at Huddinge, Ola works across web, press and social media daily. The practical question of what each channel is actually for — and how to make considered, long-term decisions about where to build — is something he approaches from experience on both sides of the divide.
