The Dallas Morning News launches innovative graduation greetings during Covid
The Dallas Morning News is a leading daily U.S. newspaper covering the Dallas-Fort Worth-Arlington metropolitan area. It is a subsidiary of the A. H. Belo Corporation, a Dallas-based media company that owns newspapers in North Texas.
The challenge: How to greet graduates in the age of Covid
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Texas college and high school graduations, normally big stadium events with family and friends, had to go virtual in the spring of 2020. Wanting to serve its community of 7.6 million people, the fourth largest metropolitan area in the U.S, The Dallas Morning News needed a more innovative and self-service way to offer graduation greetings online and in print. And with the project’s late start, time was of the essence.
The solution: Partnering with Innocode for the Milestones greetings service
The highly flexible Milestones platform, with simplified workflow from creation to submission, moderation, presentation and monetization and full print integration, made it possible to go from zero to product in a couple of weeks. With the quick turnaround, the service met deadlines for the graduation season and the special graduation insert in The Dallas Morning News print edition.
The results: Successful, timely launch opened new opportunities for Innocode products
The Dallas community clearly appreciated the ease with which submissions could be placed and paid for. The service met The Dallas Morning News’ expectations for paid submissions, both in print and digital. Following graduation season, The Dallas Morning News decided to enter into a new agreement with Innocode for a broad bundle of products running on the Innocode platform.
We’ve worked really hard to make this as inexpensive, seamless and special as possible. Really proud of how every single department at The Dallas Morning News chipped in to get us from zero to product in a couple weeks. And big props to Innocode for accommodating on a ridiculous deadline.
