A new communication channel for municipalities in Ireland and the United Kingdom

More than 50 municipalities in Norway and Sweden already use Innocode’s Citizen App to share local news, events, and services directly with residents.

We are now planning a launch in the UK and Ireland – offering cities their own, dedicated communication channel for daily updates, community engagement, and crisis information.

What we’ll cover

During the session, Bjarte Falck Olsen and Lova Lekare Graaf from Innocode will present the concept behind the Citizen App and share real examples of how Nordic cities are already using the platform to:

  • Communicate directly with residents through push notifications and local feeds
  • Strengthen trust and engagement in everyday and emergency communication
  • Reduce reliance on social media and external platforms
  • Support sustainability goals through efficient, behaviour-driven communication

You’ll see how municipalities such as Oslo, Södertälje and Västerås use the platform today, and what is now possible for municipalities in Ireland and the United Kingdom.

“Municipalities across the Nordics are re-thinking their presence on Meta and other platforms. With the Citizen App, they gain an independent, future-proof channel for direct communication and citizen engagement.”
